Andy is the Lead Safeguarding Officer at the Paddle Scotland and an experienced tutor in Child Wellbeing and Protection.
This session is aimed at those with responsibility for managing safeguarding within clubs, and Delivery Partners, or others involved in the management structures of organisations.
It is helpful to possess a basic understanding of child wellbeing and protection issues in advance, for example, having completed prior basic safeguarding training.
The Aim of the course is to provide an understanding of the nature of low level concerns and the importance of managing them appropriately and effectively within a sporting context.
Learning Outcomes:
- To gain an understanding of what comprises a Low Level Concern and their relationship with safeguarding children and young people.
- To understand the importance of managing Low Level Concerns in creating a safer culture.
- To appreciate the impact and risks of not managing low level concerns drawing on case review material.
- To identify the core components of a Low Level Concerns policy and key factors in its implementation.
- To consider the reporting and recording processes for Low Level Concerns.
